It's built on place where Battle of Khandaq took place 1400 years ago between Muslims and infidels from Makkah. Historical and religious place.

::Majidi Khandak is also known as Masjidi Fateh. It was constructed at the time of Battle of Khandak (Trench). The battle happened in the year 627. In order to defend themselves, the Prophet ordered to make big trenches at the places from where invaders could enter. The siege lasted for one month before the invaders rushed back to Mekkah. At this point four more mosques were also constructed by the companions of the Prophet.
